What to Expect?
Pasabag Open Air Museum:
Pasabag Open-Air Museum, or Monks Valley, is a remarkable site in Cappadocia, Turkey, celebrated for its unique fairy chimneys—tall, cone-shaped rock formations shaped by erosion. With historical significance as a former monastic retreat during the Byzantine era, Pasabag features cave dwellings and churches adorned with frescoes. Visitors can explore walking trails, encountering ancient cave churches that provide a glimpse into the region’s religious history. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site for its cultural and geological importance, Pasabag offers scenic views and photographic opportunities, showcasing the surreal landscape of Cappadocia.
Zelve Open Air Museum:
Zelve Open-Air Museum, situated in Cappadocia, Turkey, is a historically significant site known for its unique rock-cut architecture and cave dwellings from the Byzantine era. The area features a collection of rock-cut churches, chapels, and monastic cells adorned with well-preserved frescoes dating back to the 9th and 10th centuries.
Due to safety concerns related to erosion and rock collapses, the site was evacuated in the 1950s. Zelve is now open to tourists, providing them with an opportunity to explore the ancient dwellings and experience the rich history of Cappadocia. Recognized as part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cappadocian region, Zelve Open-Air Museum offers a glimpse into the cultural and architectural heritage of the area.
Avanos:
It was called Venessa in ancient times and very famous with its pottery workshops and pottery.
Kaymakli Underground City:
It is located about 20 km from Nevsehir and an 5-storey building. You will explore the underground city, which is composed of tuff rocks in cappadocia area.
